Sacramento– AB 2293 by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino) was signed into law by Governor Brown. The bill requires local emergency medical service (EMS) agencies to submit data on the approval or denial of EMT-I and EMT-II applicants with criminal records. The bill will also create greater transparency in the hiring practices of local EMS agencies, and will contribute to a better understanding of how to achieve more equitable hiring practices for job applicants with a criminal history.

Sacramento- On Thursday, September 6th, Governor Brown signed AB 2568 by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino), a bill that requires county jails to determine a veteran’s status or previous military service when they are processed after an arrest.

Sacramento- AB 2122 by Assemblymembers Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino) is headed to Governor Brown after passing the Assembly floor on a unanimous, bi-partisan 80-0 vote. The bill would require the Department of Health Care Services to ensure that Medi-Cal enrolled children are blood lead tested.  The bill also requires the department to notify parents and health providers when a Medi-Cal enrolled child misses a required blood lead test.

Sacramento- AB 2568 by Assemblymembers Eloise Gómez Reyes (D-San Bernardino), headed to the Governor’s desk for signature with bi-partisan support. The bill requires that when county jails process inmates after they are arrested, that they ask about previous military service or veteran designation.

Sacramento –Earlier this week, AB 1870 authored by Assemblymember Eloise Reyes (D-San Bernardino) the Stop Harassment and Reporting Extension (SHARE) Act, passed the Assembly floor on Concurrence on its way to Governor Brown’s Desk where it now waits to be signed. The bill is one of the foundational pieces of legislation around the #MeToo movement in California.
